Walking Accessories

Perhaps you use a scooter to take you from Point A to Point B, but when you get to your destination, you disembark from your scooter and rely on walking assistive devices.

There are easy ways to take them with you now, regardless of your preferred walking device.

For example, there are cane holders made of clips designed to screw into one of the arms of your scooter. The clip system carries the cane horizontally.

Another type of cane holder mounts vertically to the back of your seat. Drop the cane into the vertical pouch, and off you go. There are different brackets built to work with different brands of scooters. For example, there’s one designed for Pride scooters and another that works with the Avenger, Buzzaround, Buzzaround Lite, and Companions brands.

You’re not limited to single-point canes either. There are brackets for carrying quad canes, forearm crutches, and double crutches too. Whatever you use, chances are, you’ll find a way to transport it on your scooter.

A walker may be larger than a cane, but it can be no less portable thanks to the ingenuity of today’s scooter accessories. Again, different designs accommodate different brands, so you’ll need to pay attention to what scooter you have and match it to the proper walker carrying device.

Again, Pride has a bracket that works with its scooters, and Golden Technologies makes another style to work with Avenger, Buzzaround, Buzzaround Lite, and Companions brands.

Holders for Comfort, Convenience, and Safety

Whether you want a place to set your drink down, or whether you need a way to take an oxygen tank with you, there are holders for both. Cup holders typically clip up front to the arms or handles for your convenience, while oxygen tank holders mount on the back of the seat behind you so that the tubes and cannula can run up from the tank and over your shoulders.

Baskets and Bags

General convenience baskets come in different sizes and can enable daily activities such as shopping. There are baskets that mount up in front of the driver by the steering column, and others that mount behind the chair.

There are also larger trailer baskets that can be useful for hauling lawn tools for when you work in the yard or even more grocery bags if you take your scooter to the market.

If you like to travel away from home for longer periods, you’ll no doubt want a way to carry your keys, wallet, cell phone, purse, snacks, and other items specific to your trip. If you’re using an all-terrain scooter on a hike or a fishing trip, naturally you’ll have certain things you’ll want to pack with you. There are many styles of tote bags and day packs expressly for these purposes. There are several different sizes and shapes, and a variety of ways to mount them too. Shop around. You’re bound to find exactly what you need.

Weather Protection

Perhaps you need a way to keep your outdoor scooter dry. You can pack a cover that packs up small and light. It’s very portable, therefore, and would be a staple item for any one of the above pouches.

There are also canopies that attach to the frame of your scooter while you continue to ride it. These canopies provide added protection from intense sun, light rain, or moderate winds.
