Fun Things To Do While You’re On Crutches

When you are languishing away on crutches, you may think that there is nothing fun left to do. Being on one leg actually gives you an advantage because there is a lot of fun that you do not normally get to have due to lack of time when you are healthy and whole.

Things To Do When You’re on Crutches
20 Fun Things To Do When You’re on Crutches

Here are 20 fun things you can enjoy doing even when you are on your crutches.

1. VIDEO GAMES

Let’s face it; you simply do not have time in your life for video games. That is why your children beat you at the games every time. Surprise them by practicing, and they might have a new worthy opponent at last.

2. GROW YOUR INDOOR PLANTS

There’re many benefits of having your own houseplants. You can do it yourself or look for the assistance from your friends. This can be the funniest and easiest activities that you should give it a try also.

3. SUDOKU OR CROSSWORD

Whether you like numbers or letters, there are plenty of single player games that can help your mind operate through the boring hours.

4. MODEL ITEMS

Buy a few model cars, airplanes, boats or other fun items. They make great gifts or, if nothing else, your kids will love playing with them.

5. MUSIC

Music might be in the background of your day on a normal basis, but when you are on one leg, you can sit and actually enjoy without doing anything else. Cue up your favorite songs and let them take you back to the time when you first heard them.

6. SWIMMING

If your injury does not require a cast, swimming is something you can do for exercise that will not put pressure on your injured area. If it does and you need to keep it dry, stay dry with a latex-free cast protector. They are guaranteed for the life of your cast.

7. PLAY PRANKS

Splay yourself out on the ground and pretend that your injury just occurred and see how people react.

8. HOPSCOTCH

Lay your crutches aside and take your family members on in a friendly game of hopscotch.

9. POKE PEOPLE

You have never had such an opportunity to poke people from a distance as you do when you are on crutches. Use it!

10. LEARN AN INSTRUMENT

If you have always wanted to learn guitar or any other instrument, use your time on crutches to do so.

11. GET A MASSAGE OR OTHER BEAUTY TREATMENTS

Treat yourself to a massage, facial, manicure or any other treatment you do not usually have time to enjoy.

12. KNIT

Get started on those Christmas presents early. Everyone needs a new scarf. If you’re a newbie with this job. Watch this:

13. PLAY CARDS

You have likely forgotten how fun some of your favorite card games can be.

14. TEACH YOURSELF TO JUGGLE

The next time you must have a birthday party for one of your children, you can be the entertainment.

15. WATCH FULL SEASONS OF FAVORITE SHOWS

There are probably shows out there you enjoy, but who gets to see the entire season? Catch up by watching it all back to back.

16. UPDATE FACEBOOK

Your Facebook page is likely rather out of date. Get back in touch with old friends and make sure your own pictures are current.

17. MAKE PRESENTS OR CARDS

There is nothing like a homemade gift or card. Get crafty with the items you have around your house.

18. LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE

Make your dream of traveling to a foreign country and actually speaking the language come true. Visit this site to learn your favorite language for free.

19. ORGANIZE

No filing cabinet has ever been too organized. Dig in and organize some of the neglected areas.

20. JOIN AN ONLINE COMMUNITY WITH OTHERS RECOVERING JUST LIKE YOU

People try to be helpful, but often they don’t truly understand what struggles you are facing. Good news.
